Pushed new features to Mudmap and updated both the documentation and landing page.
Built and deployed three new features to Mudmap. Users can now shut down, reboot and run shell commands from Mudmap. Having the ability to reboot the firewall is pretty handy, as is shut down but they aren’t big quality of life improvements for users. However, the Command Prompt integration is. Users can now run shell commands without having to SSH in - a typical task. It means that savvy customers can get around certain missing feature sets by utilising this feature.
The user interface has several navigation bar tabs which are disabled. Some feedback from customers indicated that it was not immediately apparent that this was the intent. Disabled tabs now have react-tooltip annotations above them. Several other small components would benefit from this really helpful and easy to use library.
Mudmap’s landing page uses tailwind and is pretty much as-is from the templates I am using. This week I replaced the stock hero image with a screenshot of the current Mudmap dashboard. I also recorded five videos and uploaded them to YouTube as well as the documentation site. The landing page now has a Mudmap overview video embedded in it as well.
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday have been unproductive days for Mudmap development but I did get started on the January retrospective. I am unsure if I will finish it this weekend as I am away competing in a swimming event.
During the week I listened to a YouTube video from FarmCon 2022 and it’s easily the most interesting clip I’ve seen in the last few months. These farmers know they’re stuff - macro, micro, crypto and geopolitical. Colour me impressed, and Kevin Van Trump is a cool dude.
