's update for the week ending on Friday, May 3, 2019
- Added user login/registration
- Shout out to UserKit for making it easy. Went from zero knowledge of UserKit to complete integration in ~3 hours total dev time.
- Applied a bootstrap theme (Superhero)
- Fixed the entry submission page to auto-populate the date for the user
New Project Research
- Visited a stone quarry
- Owner wasn’t there, left a gift, will call back next week.
- Cold called another stone quarry
- They seemed confused about how I want to work with them
- Sent cold emails to three copywriters
- Two agreed to a discussion, other has not yet responded
- freeCodeCamp responded with a “no”
- Received payment of $123.85 in revenue from API usage
- Reached out to two users who were using the legacy NYT ingredient-phrase-tagger repo
- Started migrating to Python3
- After a month of doing nothing to the site, everything is up
- Revenues are at $82 (2x from March)
- Sessions are at 8,851 (74% increase from March)
Beekeeping
- Picked up my bees!
- Installed bees in their hives
- Fed them sugar syrup
- Released the queens from their cages
- Ordered extra gloves and additional hive boxes
- Bought equipment so we can record using our own stuff
- Scheduled a guest for episode 5
- Reached out to potential guest for episode 6 (no response yet)
Misc
- Resolved long, drawn out dispute with NYS over 2017 tax returns
- Completed bookkeeping for March with Bench
